There are times that Doña Ana County staff and elected officials are contacted by constituents who need help with a personal concern, which may not be within the county government’s jurisdiction. Examples of such concerns include, but are not limited to tenant/landlord issues, help paying utility bills, food assistance, and legal matters.

Several external agencies and organizations provide dedicated human services and legal assistance. Please visit the directories below of non-County agencies to learn more about the services available. Constituents who need help should contact the relevant agency to discuss their needs, as some programs have eligibility requirements.

There are times that Doña Ana County also receives requests to install streetlights in residential communities. Regrettably, the county lacks funding to install streetlights and already has a specific inventory of streetlights under its jurisdiction from prior years. Constituents who are interested in having streetlights installed can contact the El Paso Electric (EPE) Company’s Private Area Lighting Program. To learn more, click on the EPE Program document and contact the company directly to discuss the processes and costs for the service. It should be noted that Doña Ana County does not have authority over the external agencies and companies.
