The Doña Ana County Detention Center works closely with area law enforcement agencies and the judicial system to reduce the number of detainees in custody, to further enhance preventive measures and minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 to the community, staff or detainees.

Though in-person family visits are temporarily discontinued, extended online remote visitation hours are now in effect, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays. Additionally, each adult detainee is provided 30-minutes of free remote video visitation per week.

Family members may have either free or fee-based calls and video visits from home, using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, on gettingout.com.

For more information, please see the Visitation Schedule.

The Juvenile Facility lobby has restricted access. However, parents or guardians may schedule visits in advance, by calling (575) 647-7680. The Juvenile Facility now has video visitation capabilities as well and friends and family can also initiate report video visitation with juveniles by going to gettingout.com.

Keeping Detainees Safe From COVID-19

The Detention Center is working to provide a safe and secure facility for all detainees in consideration of the current COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, we take several actions to help prevent the introduction of COVID-19 into the facility and increase our ability to limit and contain any positive cases of COVID-19, within the facility.
